Follow-ups: are imperative to establish a personalized health plan that effectively addresses your specific concerns, goals, and helping to get to underlying causes.
When do I need to follow-up after my initial health scan, appointment, etc.?
Why Follow up?
What if I don’t follow-up? Then Dr. Hartman cannot help you fully. You have to take responsibility for your own health and do the work, as with anything you do. You have to commit, decide you want to get better, lose weight etc. whatever it is you want to change. You need to be focused on your successes and moving forward.
Do I have to come in office to follow up? Yes, most of the time Dr. Hartman needs to see patients, just like your medical physician. However, on some occasions when a patient is doing well she may allow meeting online, calling or emailing for follow ups. Although, before 3months patients need to be seen in office and updated information taken.
Is it Dr. Hartman’s responsibility to follow up with me or am I solely responsible to follow up?
Dr. Hartman will follow up within a month’s time to see how things are going, what you’ve done, changed, decided to take etc. However, she cannot make patients come in office to follow up. Ultimately, it’s the patient’s full responsibility to follow up, decide to make lifestyle, health and/or dietary changes. Dr. Hartman can’t do everything for her patients, they have to want it themselves. She’s invested and wants patients to succeed but they have to put in the work, commit, follow up, and follow through in order to achieve health goals. There are no guarantees, medical physicians will tell you the same, however, when a patient takes full responsibility for their health, changes are made then health improves. Overtime, patients will see results but there is no quick fixes, magic pills, surgeries etc. with anything. You did not get where you are overnight and it will take TIME to undo imbalances, malfunctions, improve system functions, health, nutritional needs etc.
NOTE: it is NOT Dr. Hartman’s responsibility to continue to contact patients by texting, emailing or calling. She’s more than willing to help but patients need to be reaching out to her, following up, and taking the initiative to improve their health, nutrition, lifestyle, etc. Likewise, it is not fair to Dr. Hartman or other patients who follow up regularly for her to spend extra time trying to get patients to take responsibility and/or follow up as they should. Although, Dr. Hartman will text to see how you’re doing, if there is no response then she will email for a “2nd check in,” and lastly will call for a 3rd attempt to see how you’e doing. However, it should be YOUR responsibility to follow up and check in…
Why should you follow up after a health scan, biofeedback, in office appt etc.? Following up after is crucial because it allows me to review the results and health plan we went through, discuss any additional necessary next steps to take, and address any concerns you may have, potentially enabling early detection of health issues and ensuring appropriate steps to take if you are progressing well, having any struggles, frustrations, moving slower than you want
Steps for following up: This is a multilevel service.
The 1st part is your initial meeting, e.g., getting a health scan and going through results, having a biofeedback session and going through what happened or a consult etc.
The 2nd part is following up in office or making a Zoom call. This way I have an idea and understanding of what is going on, what you’re going through, what has been happening since your last appointment, have things gotten or better, what isn’t better etc. This gives me more to go on so I can make the necessary changes you may need and/or see something that additionally needs to be addressed. Sometimes it’s emotional and we may need to address that as well. There’s a LOT that could be going on when it comes to your overall health and wellness.
The 3rd part is doing whatever else in tandem with the initial meeting. So, doing a health or food scan, biofeedback sessions, mental-emotional scan, consults etc. This only helps you to continue to move forward in your health journey. You did NOT get where you are overnight! There are SEVERAL layers that need to be worked on and addressed in order to get you moving and staying forward without regression, if you really are serious about achieving optimal health.
The 4th part comes after we get things moving, you’re doing so much better, then we come back to what you did the first initial visit. Example: do an updated health scan by or before 5months, continue on our consults or update your biofeedback session etc. As we need to see all your progress, improvements and/or patterns by keeping things up to date.
How does this work?
What’s my next step? After any professional health services Dr. Hartman offers, patients should schedule while in office and/or call, text or email to schedule a follow up appointment within the parameters mentioned above. Your next step depends on how serious you are, how much you want something, etc.
Concluding, Dr. Hartman can only help you as much as you allow her to. It takes BOTH you and Dr. Hartman working together for the betterment of your health, especially at the beginning. If you do not do your part, nothing you do will work, e.g., diet programs, going to a gym, weightloss, physical therapy, medical situations etc. You have to follow-up and follow through in order to see results. Dr. Hartman is invested over 200+% and is eager to help those who come to her. She believes your time is just as precious as hers and she wants you to succeed!
